A season that began with a no-hitter in Florida ended with a New England Elite Baseball League championship. The 11u Bobcats, coached by Joe Evans, defeated Rivals Baseball of Woburn, Mass., 19-6, to complete their season at Gergler Park in Bow. The Bobcats (21-10) reached the final game by winning four straight elimination games during the EBL playoffs.
In the championship, right-handers Matt Lamy and Nathan Innerfield combined to overpower the Rivals. Logan Gordon and Evan Provost handled catching duties, and there many great plays on defense. Cameron Evans sealed the title with a running catch in left-center field. The Bobcats took an 8-6 lead into the seventh inning and erupted for 11 runs, highlighted with a grand slam by Cam Olivo (five RBIs). Gordon stole home during a momentum-building rally, and Zachary McCoy provided clutch hitting with runners in scoring position. Ryan McSweeney hit a bases-loaded double, while Nick and Nate Steigmeyer combined for multiple hits. Lefty Connor Haas was dominant lefty for the Bobcats all season, and Ryan Cunningham was Mr. Dependable on defense. Ethan Gray (injury) played half the season and was a key contributor to a magical 2016 season. Congratulations to the Bobcats and Rivals for a great season!

Great Job!
